Sierra Star Trails

We went camping this weekend up at Stampede Lake.  We did a little mountain bike riding, went for a sweet sunset kayak paddle on Saturday night and then captured some star trails to end the day!  I can’t believe the weather and moon cooperated with me this time. Amazing.

The trees in this one are uplit by the warm light of our campfire.  This exposure was about 45 minutes.  I was just shootin’ from the hip when I shot this one (which was the first of the sequence) and guessed on how long to leave the shutter open.  I like the way it turned out though, get some details in the trees…
